The long-awaited video for “Kakuda” is finally here, and fans of horror comedies are already talking about it. “Munjya,” which came out in 2024 and was a huge hit, was directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. Riteish Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha, and Saqib Saleem all play important parts in the movie.
The story is based on a strange myth in Rathoda, a cursed village with two doors—one enormous and one small. The village folklore requires villagers to keep the little door open for the ghost of Kakuda, who preys on men, every Tuesday at 7:15 pm. Failure to do so curses the houseman with death. When Indira’s husband Sunny (Saqib Saleem) breaks this practice and is cursed, the story thickens.
Indira initially doubts the rural superstition, but her husband’s life is at risk. She joins Victor (Riteish Deshmukh), a ghost hunter, to save Sunny. The trailer follows their trip through frightening and hilarious incidents to discover the curse.
The trailer for “Kakuda” is a wonderful mix of horror and comedy, reminiscent of “Stree” but with a distinct twist. While “Stree” featured a female ghost scaring men, “Kakuda” Hindi movie adds a male ghost, offering a new perspective. Victor, played by Riteish Deshmukh, provides a break from the spine-chilling moments with his humor and timing.
The trailer perfectly blends frightening and funny under Aditya Sarpotdar’s direction. The creepy town of Rathoda and its enigmatic dual doors lend suspense and mystery. Cinematography depicts a cursed village, evoking the protagonists’ anxiety and tension.
People have compared “Kakuda” to horror comedy movies like “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” and “Stree,” especially since Victor made fun of these movies in the trailer. But “Kakuda” looks like it will make its own place in the horror-comedy genre with its unique story and interesting characters.
“Indira works alongside a ghost hunter to save Sunny from Kakuda, a terrible spirit. Can she save her husband before the curse kills him?” Zee5 will air “Kakuda” on July 12, 2024. Genre enthusiasts should watch “Kakuda” for its unique storyline, outstanding cast, and mix of horror and humor. Discover Kakuda’s mystery and Indira and Victor’s fascinating adventure.
